Definitions

Megapixel: a number describing how many "pixels" (very small dots) make up a digital image. The more pixels, the clearer the image will be and the larger you will be able to print it and still have a clear photographic print. "Mega" means 1000.

Resolution: another word used to describe how many pixels make up the computer file created by the camera (or artist). Higher resolution is better (to a degree), but requires more and more disk space. The resolution of the images on this web site has been reduced so that they do not take too long to load.

Traditional Approach: A classic way of taking photographs of an event. There is an emphasis on posed photographs, planned ahead of time. A valuable approach if you are constrained by the limitations associated with traditional film-based photography.
